"Hi I'm Kate and I am a single parent to an amazing 6 year old boy. We live with my parents in the house I grew up in back in Horley (I worked and lived in Redhill before
having him).

I have been an Early Years Teacher for over 15 years and am passionate about early experiences, language enriched, play based learning. I currently teach in Crawley but many of you will also know me from Imagineville. This has been my business for the past 3 years and I am proud to call it ‘my second baby’. I have loved watching how the customers could see my passion and have engaged with their own children in our sessions. I have some great staff and amazing friends that help me run the business.
For those of you that haven’t been to an Imagineville session, it is a play area based on role play toys. Children use their imagination to create their own entertainment. For example, there is a pretend cafe, a construction area and dressing up clothes. Parents join in the fun if they wish or stand back and watch their children play. Many customers arrange to meet others at Imagineville. However, many feel relaxed enough to come on their own, knowing that staff are friendly and welcoming. Parents know that children love their closest adults to ‘join-in’ with the fun.
I have always felt that role play is a crucial part of developing any child’s language, confidence and understanding of the world so at Imagineville we are giving parents and children the opportunities to explore in a clean, relaxed and friendly environment.
I have known Laura (my friend and fellow co-founder) for about 5 years and we always talked about having a space we could work within the community together. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the areas I am not so confident in and we complement each other as we are friendly, dedicated and driven to raising our families but also supporting others in doing so.
When we heard the news about some of the Sure Start centres closing and that Imagineville needed to find a new home, we came together to discuss what were the beginnings of Infinity. We both had great experiences of local, NCT groups and a rich variety of classes and services available to new parents and we wanted to ensure that we could also offer this to future parents.
My favourite thing about being a part of Infinity...... is knowing that although some of the existing centres will close, hopefully by using methods and facilities that worked so well - other families and the wider community can benefit from the classes, services and warm welcome that we at Infinity will offer.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us and to our amazing committee that support our vision and enthusiasm. We are also really grateful to Mr Gale and the fabulous Earlswood Federation that have allowed us to use their space to start our exciting journey.
